1. Introduction
Welcome to JSON View (jsonview.help). We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how our website works. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect (and more importantly, what we don't collect) when you use our developer tools.
The key principle behind JSON View is simple: your data stays on your device. We built these tools with privacy as the foundation because we understand that developers often work with sensitive information—API keys, authentication tokens, proprietary code, and customer data.
2. Data Processing (Client-Side Only)
We do not store, process, or have access to any data you enter into our tools. All tools on this website—including JSON Viewer, JWT Decoder, Base64 Converter, UUID Generator, and all others—run entirely in your web browser using JavaScript.
When you paste JSON, decode a JWT token, encode text to Base64, or use any other tool:
- The data is processed by JavaScript running locally on your device
- No data is transmitted to our servers or any third-party servers
- No data is saved to any database or file system
- We have no technical capability to see or access your input
- When you close the browser tab, your data is gone completely
This architecture means you can safely use our tools with production credentials, customer data, proprietary code, or any other sensitive information without privacy concerns.
3. Google AdSense & Cookies
We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on our website. This helps us keep the tools free for everyone while covering hosting and maintenance costs.
Google AdSense uses cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website and other websites on the Internet. These advertising cookies:
- Enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on your browsing history
- Do NOT have access to the content you paste into our tools
- Are separate from the tool functionality (tools work without accepting cookies)
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. You can also visit aboutads.info to opt out of third-party advertising cookies.
4. Local Storage
Some features may use your browser's local storage to remember preferences such as:
- Your preferred color theme (light/dark mode)
- UI preferences for better user experience
This data is stored only in your browser and is never transmitted to us. You can clear this data anytime by clearing your browser's local storage.
5. Log Files & Analytics
Like most websites, our web server automatically logs standard connection information:
- IP addresses (may be anonymized)
- Browser type and version
- Pages visited and referring URLs
- Date and time of visits
This information is used for maintaining security, analyzing traffic patterns, and improving the website. It is NOT linked to any personally identifiable information and does NOT include any content you enter into our tools.
6. Third-Party Links
Our website may contain links to external sites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of other websites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any external sites you visit.
7. Children's Privacy
Our services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us so we can delete it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
9. Consent
By using our website, you consent to this Privacy Policy and agree to its terms. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our website.
